December Daily 2020 // Day 3
/Welcome to my December Daily 2020 | Story 3.
Today’s story is about our Christmas card, and I love how it came together. I must admit one of my main concerns in choosing to do the 3x8 size this year was how I was going to fit our Christmas card into the album. I love this day’s spread and the solution I came up with.
I included a fold-out version of our Christmas card sandwiched in between two long, horizontal photos of the card-mailing process. This worked wonderfully because Alejandro and myself are on one side of the flip out, and Tom and Carmen are on the other side.
A photo of myself licking one of the many envelopes next to one of those gorgeous Felicity Jane numbers worked nicely together.
On the backside/inside of my sandwiched Christmas card fold out is where I put the full story. I added digital journaling on top of a photo of me holding the finished bunch of cards right before I walked downstairs to drop ‘em in the mailbox.
Underneath the flip up, I included two more photos from Jeb’s surprise reappearance and the story - which I entitled OMG! JEB IS BACK!
The fonts I used came from one of Paislee Press’s digital designs.
I’d like to conclude this post with Ali’s Holiday Cheer card deck. ALL. THE. HEART. EYES. It’s one of my favorite products from her 2020 release. Each card in the deck has a sweet prompt for the month typed on it, and since the deck arrived on my door, I’ve flipped through it almost every day thinking about what stories I could match to some of the ideas.
There was no other card I could have picked to accompany DAY 3’s story other than “send snail mail to friends that you hold dear”. That’s exactly what these cards are and they’re going out to almost 100 friends and family that we hold dear. The whole Christmas card process this year brought me joy! I hope to replicate it for years to come.
Thanks for visiting and sharing in my excitement for this project! If you’re new to December Daily, find out all about it from Ali Edwards’ website. You can see how I’ve participated in the past HERE. Stay well & Happy December! xoxo
