December Daily 2020 // Day 5
/Welcome to my December Daily 2020 | Story 5.
There are two stories included in DAY 5. The first is about dinner at my sister’s new house. The second - revealed in a flip-up - is about Tom and me driving around the neighborhood looking at lit houses before returned home.
The title page came from the song “Happy Happy Christmas” by Ingrid Michaelson. The words I wanted to highlight “They say time flies and baby, it’s true” were stuck down with Felicity Jane alphas, and I added lyrics above and below it on strips of paper that I ran through the Minc machine to make goild-foiled.
I adhered the title on an Ali Edwards’ grid transparency, and embossed a layer of velum with Kelly Pukrey bird stamps underneath.
The thin white puffy ‘5’ was placed upon a star can be rotated to reveal journalling underneath the photo, or pulled to reveal a flip-out to the ‘drive home’ story from the same night.
The flip-out shows a photo of a lit house in our neighborhood I took from the passenger side out of Tom’s driver-side window. I love that I see Tom’s profile in the foreground, and the lit house in the background. In the moment candid shots with a little blur and movement are my favorite!
I added my journalling right on top of the photo and three star stickers in a row for a little flair and embellishment. (Give me all the star stickers this year. I literally can’t get enough!)
The card from Ali’s Holiday Cheer card deck that matched DAY 5’s story is the one that reads “reach out to friends new + old and invite them over for dinner. simplicity is key.” Instead on this night, I brought dinner to my sister and she, Eric, Tom, and I had the most simple, relaxing time.
Thanks for visiting and allowing me to share how my Decmeber’s going. If you’re new to December Daily, find out all about it from Ali Edwards’ website. You can see how I’ve participated in the past HERE. Stay well & happy documenting! xoxo
