December Daily 2020 // Day 1
/Day 1 is done and done, and is all about Jeb, the Stormtrooper balloon, coming back into our lives for his second Christmas with us! I created the page in Ali Edwards’ Product Play 4 class, and you can see in my foundation pages post how it looked before. This is the finished product:
For DAY 1, I was working inside this flip-open triangle “reveal” page — which was perfect to house the story of Jeb’s big reveal. Haa haa! When the “doors” are closed, the focus is on the number and title at the top, but when they open…
…you see a serious close-up of Jeb guarding our Christmas tree, and it makes me giggle every time. Originally, I was going to use that triangle piece on the left for journalling, but I’m glad that I decided to bleed Jeb’s cheek and a bit of my tree onto it instead.
I ended up putting my journalling underneath and have it revealed it in a flip-up. I included a large rose gold paper clip to act as a “peek under here” embellishment, with a gold glitter star and the “BUSHELS OF FUN” stamp from Paper Person to attract attention.
Underneath the flip up, I included two more photos from Jeb’s surprise reappearance and the story - which I entitled OMG! JEB IS BACK!
The fonts I used came from one of Paislee Press’s digital designs.
I’d like to conclude this post with Ali’s Holiday Cheer card deck. ALL. THE. HEART. EYES. It’s one of my favorite products from her 2020 release. Each card in the deck has a sweet prompt for the month typed on it, and since the deck arrived on my door, I’ve flipped through it almost every day thinking about what stories I could match to some of the ideas.
The simple “try a new tradition” card is perfect for Day 1’s story. Jeb made his appearance last year, and I’m officially going to go out of my way in years to come to have Jeb, the Holiday Stormtrooper, make an annual visit to our December. He’s just too fun!
Thanks for visiting and sharing in my excitement for this project! If you’re new to December Daily, find out all about it from Ali Edwards’ website. You can see how I’ve participated in the past HERE. Stay well & Happy December! xoxo
