OVERVIEW OF TWO MONTHS DOWN
JULY 30, 2020 | 187.2 LBS (-9.6 lbs) - I’m sooooo close to being 10 pounds down from Memorial Day, with another 11 pounds to go to get to my goal magic weight number! Half way there! REMEMBER: The fastest way to lose weight is slowly, and I understand that more than ever after these two months.
Taking it slow and doing right by my body with whole foods and controlled portions (as opposed to quick fasts that shock my body into weight loss) has made the healthy choices become easier and more routine to make. I no longer have to think about what healthy choices to make or how to make them as intensely as I did back in June. Now, I just make them. If I make a mistake, I just correct it. No drama. No devastating crumble of “the plan”…just a grace-filled, gentle trot back in the marathon. This is big news, people.

NEW WORKOUT GEAR
I’ve mentioned I’ve been getting myself up most days and getting to my gym’s outdoor workout sessions that start at 6am (oh, glorious teacher summers, I love you). Since attending these classes 4-6 days a week, I’ve need some new gear. Most importantly a mat, so I don’t do burpees or push-ups on the pointy gravel of the parking lot.
I found this plush mat (that comes with a separate extra piece to use for your knees or head), and then this amazing slip-on-slip-off easy, breezy mat strap so I could carry it without a problem to and from the class.

HORMONES & OUR FEMALE ‘SECOND CLOCK’
I’ve become quite obsessed Pia Baroncini and her wedding and clothing label this past month - only to find out she also hosts a podcast! EXTREMELY HELPFUL and ENLIGHTENING was THIS PODCAST EPISODE interviewing Alisa Vitti of FLO Living about hormones and the second bodily clock females should be attending to - a monthly rhythm on top of our daily rhythm that affects our biological responses and overall health & wellness. So much good, necessary information there. It had me thinking: Why aren't we being taught this the MINUTE we get our periods?!
I big part of this health journey is educating myself on my body, my home. Making choices and a commitment to take care of it, so it can take care of me (and hopefully some babies in the next few years). No one “out there” is caring about us, and what we - as women - need. It’s up to us to look after each other, to listen to each other, and educate ourselves.

MONTH 2 DOWN and slow & steady is still doing it. Excited to see where I’m at for next month’s post - being that the three months will be “up”. Something tells me I won’t be at goal, but also that that won’t matter as much as I think. Stay tuned! Thanks for reading. xo
