FUN FRIDAY // 04
/Three weeks ago, I introduced FUN FRIDAY & here’s the gist: because I chose FUN as my one little word® this year, I’ve decided that every Friday from now until the start of 2022, I’ll share some fun things that happened the week before. Let’s go…
My new car. This past week, I leased a new car. Like, a BRAND new car…a 2021 Hyundai Venue to be exact. Aside from driving a brand new car, the most exciting part of the whole thing was being with my dad and learning all about leasing cars: what fees I should expect to pay, which fees I should NEVER pay, and why the car salesperson does what they do. It was a thrilling learning experience, a great time with my dad, and if you only knew what I was driving the past three years, you’d get why this is at the top of my FUN FRIDAY list.
A solo weekend. Tom is my soulmate, my person, my best friend, but last weekend he left for a guys’ trip and I was by myself for a couple of days. I missed him, of course, but I also thoroughly enjoyed having my own space again. Actually, it was magical - it was where I fit in the car dealership visit with my dad, and also where I carved out time for a dinner with the girls.
Dinner outfit. Cute clothes are a major source of FUN for me. I feel powerful and most myself when I feel good in my clothes. Getting dressed means even more since the past 10 months have found us in knock-around clothes all day and nowhere to go. To me, it’s an enjoyable form of self-care.
the ladies on January 20th. Speaking of clothes…HELLO, LADIES! Inauguration Day was hopeful and bright for a lot of reasons, but the women in ATTENDANCE stole the show in my opinion. And how fun is seeing them all lined up making the rainbow?! Unbelievable! [source for image above]
The Bern. All the Memes that have come from Bernie Sanders’ cross legged mitten grimace (yes, I assume he’s grimacing underneath his face mask) have been PURE. GOLD. I saw one that said “always the bridesmaid, never the bride” and another that said it looked like Bernie showed up to Inauguration Day like it was just one of the many things on his to-do list. Haa haa! [THIS was one of my favorites, and I’d love a crocheted Bernie, and the artwork above from HERE.]
