December Daily 2020 // Day 8
/Welcome to my December Daily 2020 | Story 8.
Today’s story is made up of a few December moments featuring my sweet cat daughter, Carmen, and while some pages in this album came together in less than 30 minutes, I was stuck for three days on how to get this one in my album.
Part of the problem was that I had three Carmen stories I wanted to tell for DAY 8 and I knew I wanted to use that golf foil Fa La La card and the felt number eight. For three days, I juggled between those things without anything feeling right, but after watching Ali’s light-hearted struggle through story 8, I knew I wasn’t alone and just had to simplify.
I ended up choosing to highlight the story about Carmen hiding and smirking under the Christmas tree on a full 3x8 page. I hid the text convo my mom and I had about that photo in a pull-up piece , and I love (as Ali always says) it added another ‘voice’ to my album.
I fit the other two stories in a sweet little mini flip-book using the felt 8 as a cover. One story was about the cardboard Christmas trailer my sister got for her to chill in. Another was Tom & Carmen playing catch with each other.
The card from Ali’s Holiday Cheer card deck that coordinates with DAY 8’s story for me is the one that contains the words “all day affair” and ”consumed in PJ’s” because, well, loving on Carmen and her cat-brother Alejandro IS an all-day, everyday affair in this house. I even say to them all the time, “Mama loves you everyday!” …and weekends, lately, have been for loving each other in this apartment I’m lucky to call home in the coziest clothes we own. Best time ever.
Thanks for visiting and allowing me to share how my Decmeber’s going. If you’re new to December Daily, find out all about it from Ali Edwards’ website. You can see how I’ve participated in the past HERE. Stay well & happy documenting! xoxo
