Mother's Day 2020
/Mother’s Day 2020: (1) morning coffee inmy CAT MOM mug because that’s the kind of mom I is / (2) quiet, creative time at my crafting table before Rowinski woke up / (3) personalizing mom’s “Strong Women Strong Daughters” card with the images I used earlier this year for Ali Edwards’ PIECES OF US challenge …
(4) spent some time on Photoshop printing out photos of my family of four to put in an empty Urban Outfitters frame to gift to mom along with ‘Mother’s Day Tiramisu’ I made for my mom and his mom:
(5) He woke up and we spent some quality family time in bed with the kitties. THIS RIGHT HERE. This felt like my mother’s day, even though I’m not a human mom yet. I HOPE THIS IS A SWEET FORESHADOWING OF WHAT’S IN STORE FOR OUR FUTURE TOGETHER…
(6) we got relatively dressed up - more dressed than we have needed to be lately / (7) stopped at Stop & Shop for kitty litter and the liquor store for wine / (8) walked into my mom’s house to a fully set table of linguine and white clam sauce, garlic bread, tomato salad, and chicken francese …
(9) we video chatted with Grams and Aunt Laura. Grams, of course, didn’t understand how she was seeing all of us at once…
(10) we had mom’s tiramisu for dessert after the meal she cooked for her own Mother’s Day / (11) we packed up a whole bunch of linguine and chicken leftovers to take back to the apartment / (12) we arrived at his family’s house ten blocks away / (13) his dad brought out Moet champagne / (14) Tom popped the cork / (15) we had Peruvian food for dinner outside on the back deck…
(16) I took a ‘social distancing’ family photo of Tom and his family all standing feet apart from each other / (17) his dad picked his mom a dandelion weed…
(18) we took this self-timer group shot on the back porch steps / ALL IN ALL, a great Mother’s Day! The first one Tom and I spent at both moms!
Here’s hoping there are many more!
